A Visual Guide to Restorative Justice and Key Vocabulary

While all cases have their individual content, in visual terms, the Restorative Justice process follows the set pattern below; some key vocabulary is explained here:

Facilitator – the trained professional who manages the restorative process.

Harm – in the context of restorative practice, actions and consequences which negatively affect individuals.

Harmer – the individual responsible for the harm.

Harmed – the individual who has experienced the harm.

Restorative Conference – a face-to-face meeting between Harmer and Harmed.

Outcome Agreement – a document signed by all participants in a Restorative Conference.
